Initial Visit
An Initial visit is made to the garden, during which time a presentation of the extensive portfolio is made. A £150 callout fee is charged for this service.

Client Brief
A detailed account of your requirements is also drawn up, and, in the case of relatively small gardens, a site and photographic survey is made. For larger or more complex sites the service of a professional surveyor may be sought - the fee being met by the client.

Existing house plans that show building structures/ boundaries are often adequate and may not require a professional survey. My interpretation of your 'wish list' is sent back to you for your comments. A full breakdown of design charges is also sent.

Draft Design Proposals
Following your approval of the Client Brief and fees, rough sketches in pencil are produced and various possibilities explored at this second consultantion.

Following this second consultation, a final master-plan is drawn up. A planting plan and schedule will be produced if required.

Presentation
The garden design and planting plan is presented to you and copies sent out to three independent contractors to tender for the works. Contractors are employed by the client directly and not the designer. The design fee is due at this stage.

Extras
Subsequent drawings and construction drawings are charged at the hourly rate of £55. Setting out, visits to nurseries, reclamation yards, suppliers and accompanied visits with Planning Officers, Tree Surgeons, Architects and Contractors are also charged at £55 per hour including travelling time.

Construction monitoring and planning appeals (if required) are charged at the hourly rate £55 per hour (including travel).
