The approach to this small garden and garden room is via a small pool with letter box water fall. A radial deck surrounds the pool.

‘Walking on water’ Under construction in Nether Alderley, a bridge carries one of the many flowing paths around this new garden and over the water. Very large fish now enjoy this naturalistic pond.

Classic balustrades and terracing have been employed here to give create a graceful descent from the house to the lower lawnClassical terracing – using a limited palette of natural materials is used to sensitively compliment the Italianate architecture of this Richard  Harding Watt house.

A thatched ‘Breezehouse’ is reached by a boardwalk which crosses over a swamp. Yorkshire

                    

I am known for my planting plans, clients know that I will exploit contrasts in colour, texture, form and size. However good plant associations and companion planting were not required in this Prestbury cottage garden.

Flowing line emphasises the width of this long thin garden and generates a feeling of movement and progression that runs throughout this English Country Garden.

Clipped yew cylinders are used to ‘anchor’ the surrounding features (in this case the substantial house and Parish church) to the ground. The cylinders are part of a box parterre and slightly obscure the house from the drive – adding a little mystery, anticipation, and surprise.

Clean lines and a contemporary style are the order of the day in this Didsbury garden. This garden for a young professional couple features low maintenance minimal planting.

An interpretation of a stylized Victorian Fern Garden. This fantasy garden uses blacks and greens – the garden mosaics imitate the unfurling fronds of the fern.
