Why should gardens be designed?
As with most things in life, things that are planned well in advance take into account many possible outcomes, explore different avenues and consequently avoid wasted time and costly mistakes. They can save money.
To have an experienced award winning designer lead you through this process collaboratively, is the best way to realise the maximum potential from your garden.
A garden with a design plan means you have a ‘goal’ to work towards. Great if you are going to realise the design in phases, or as the budget allows.
Making models during the design process is another way of bringing a plan to life and demonstrating design concepts. In this case manipulating clay and metal has produced a feeling of movement which will inspire the design further.
The garden below began life as a 3D model, although the drawing board was used to create a planting plan showing contrasts in colour & texture as well as the eventual heights and spreads of each plant.
